Who would of thought there would be a toilet paper shortage? Not me. But Help! I am out of toilet paper and can’t find any. When this Corona virus pandemic started I heard of people going and buying tons of toilet paper and I thought they were crazy. I didn’t jump on that theory because there has always been enough to go around. When I went to the store and bought my 6 roll pack and left another 6 packs on the shelf. As I looked back there was another customer that took all 6 packs that I had left. I knew I was in trouble then. I do believe there is still enough out there for all of us. Just some of us has a little too much stored in there garage making it hard for others to have some. That’s okay I have ways around it. Here are some toilet paper alternatives.

You don’t need toilet paper. Do You?

The answer is yes we do need toilet paper or some way to wipe. I have some solutions that will help you out if you are like me and have run out or just about to run out.

What you don’t want to do for toilet paper.

Get up early before stores open and wait in line. To me this is too big of a risk. Not knowing when or if the store has got a shipment in you have just put yourself among other people that might have the corona-virus. I have tried ordering toilet paper online and it is not possible. You can order it from Amazon here but you have at least a 6 week wait. Hmm, wait a minute order now for May might be a good idea though. Go out when you need to do grocery shopping. Plan on getting to the store early enough and go straight to the aisle with the T.P. Remember there is a shortage of toilet paper so it will be a long shot. You might want to use one of the toilet paper alternatives below.

Alternative #1

This one does have a shortage starting to happen also but you might be able to find some, flushable wipes. I did nab some of these when the toilet paper ran out at my stores. Remember to make sure they say flushable before you put them in the toilet. You might get hooked on these even after the shortage ends.

Alternative #2

This is similar to the flushable wipes you can use baby wipes. Do use caution when using these. Do not put these in the toilet. They will plug it up quickly. If you have a septic tank it is not good for that system also. The solution for this is to have a small trash can next to the toilet with a plastic bag and throw them in there. Yes, this can be gross to some but it is better then the alternative isn’t it. Make sure you take the trash out every day so it won’t be so bad.

Alternative #3

Napkins or paper towels even facial tissue are an option. These may be hard to find in some stores but I was able to still find some. The rule on these are like the baby wipes do not flush these either. Look for these around your house you might have some stashed someplace you forgot. Check your car for napkins from a carryout place. Remember if you still do carry out save your napkins for the bathroom. Wash your hands instead.

Alternative #4

Washcloths, don’t skip to the next one until you hear me out. This isn’t so bad. Think back to when there wasn’t any disposable diapers. What did our ancestors use for the baby? Cloth diapers and washcloths. This definitely works as an alternative. We can use the same idea as they did. After you use them put them in a bag and wash them when you run out. I don’t recommend putting them in a pail with water. This is too much of a danger for children having an open container of water sitting around. If your worried about the stink wash every day. It won’t be so bad. If you don’t have many washcloths here are some reasonable ones to purchase. Using whatever you have will work also old towels, t shirts, blankets anything you can cut up will work.

Alternative #5

A squirt bottle is a great toilet paper alternative. Just think having your own personal bidet. What gave me this idea was when I had my three children I was given a squirt bottle to use after I went to the bathroom so I wouldn’t get an infection or mess with the incision. I never had a problem with being clean.
