Life Gives you lemons
Life has sure has gave out some lemons these past 2 months. I wrote in my last post about what direction I was going to go with. Here it has been nine days since I have written a post. My goal was to write at least 2 posts a week. Boy has things gone sour since then. When life gives you lemons you got to figure it out.
I am sharing with you what we are doing to change things for the better in hopes of giving you some ideas and encouragement to get things changing for you.
These past days have been spent searching what we as a family need to be doing. We had thought my husband which has been furloughed the last two months was to be going back to work on June 1st.
Well, that didn’t happen. They say maybe sometime in September. He had another job prospect but that fell through also until possibly September. His line of work can’t be done at home and depends on travel. So here we are. Setting new goals for both of us. Here is a great post about goal setting.
We decided we are going to make lemonade out of those lemons. It might not be the flavor of lemonade we had planned but we are sure going to make it the best we can.
Read on and hopefully we can help give you ideas or encouragement of how to change your lemons to lemonade.
Lemonade Anyone?
Remember that saying “When life gives you lemons make lemonade.” I am going to make some lemonade out of our lemons.
Creativity is my outlet.
It is what drives me everyday.
I constantly am looking around finding something to change or make.
Way of Change
Luckily with these lemons that were dealt to us I am still able to share my creativity with you. Maybe in a little different way but its still being creative.
We are having to slow down a bit on our current home because of our employment situation but we do have some projects that have been on going I can share.
(As promised here is a post of a project we were able to finish.)
We will be using what we have around the house to make some improvements. This is were the creativity comes in. Figuring out what we still can do with what we got and saving money doing it.

While we are changing our direction here at home I will also be adding more to this blog.
In the next few weeks I will be going through many of my past home pictures and sharing with you how I turned my fixer uppers into beautiful homes.

Yes my goals have changed but that’s okay. Check out this post about how my goals had changed due to the stage in my life. (My kids growing up) I set new goals but they were really old goals that I am revisiting.
More Lemonade
Being here in Arizona for just six months still has us unpacking. With my husband off of work we are able to go through all of his and my items in the garage.
There are boxes out there that haven’t been gone through since three moves ago. Boxes that have been in storage for years.
I am going to use my organization and decluttering skills like I wrote about last month on the garage and craft room. Rooms that have always been put on hold because of no time. No excuses now we have the time.
This is something that always got put aside because of wanting to do something else. We had to choose between fun or organizing our garage. We of course chose fun.
The lemonade here is we will get an organized garage and a great craft room. Something I have wanted for years. This will make for a much simpler life.
Another Benefit
Putting items up for sale on Craigslist or ebay will help with the finances also. I will use some of the money we get to buy some organization containers and shelving.

Decluttering sure makes a room more enjoyable to be in not to mention a lot less stressful.
Another aspect of everyone being furloughed in our house is we are able to spend more time with each other.
Just the other day my husband mentioned how nice it is to have everyone under the same roof again. I will have to admit I like it too. It is giving me more time with my kids.
They would have been off in other states working their jobs or going to school.
See more lemonade. Just having another way of looking at things will help out.
Hopefully seeing how we have changed our perspective on things has helped you change yours. Yes, it’s hard at times but we will make it through it.
Get Help
There are different ways of looking at life.
When bad things happen try to find a way of turning it around.
There are some things that can’t be turned around.
If you need help with those things talk with someone. Meet with your pastor or find a hotline that will listen. If you don’t go to church choose one and give them a try. Even a friend is willing to lend an ear. Say a prayer. God is listening.
Just don’t go it alone there is someone out there ready to help.
Try to change your lemons into lemonade. I know I am trying.
It will take a bit of work but I know we will get through this.
Things will be different but that’s okay.
