It’s Party Time
A graduation party can be one of the most memorable parties of one’s life. With these graduation party ideas, it will be.
It is the time to celebrate a person’s achievement in life.
Every graduation party celebrates one significant accomplishment in life. Whether it be high school, college, vocational school, or even 8th grade. There are so many graduations out there I can’t even begin to name them all.

Planning the Graduation Party
Planning the celebration can be a little intimidating. My youngest son graduated from high school I had mentioned this in the “Doing What I Love “post. Wanting it to be perfect I put unnecessary pressure on myself. Remember, whatever you do will be appreciated. The pressure was not necessary.
It’s the person that graduated that needs to be focused on. That being said let’s plan a party.

What to do first
The first item that should be on the list is finding out what colors the school colors are. That way you know what decorations you can buy.
You will be amazed at how many items are out there. This set of decorations can go with any color that you add. It’s also great that you get so much all at once.
Plates and napkins are a great way to add decor to your tablescape. I decided to buy ones that said Happy Graduation and focused on the school colors elsewhere.
Photo Banner
Something special to add is a photo banner. They are great to display the graduate from Kindergarten on. Everyone loves looking at them. It sure was a big hit at all three of my kids’ graduation parties.
Make sure you set time aside to find your photos. I learned my lesson at the first party. Once we found our photos we made our photo banner with this light-up clothespin set. It made it so much easier and looked great also.
For the other two graduations, we used our Cricut to cut out banner flags and adhered them to them. I wanted to be a bit different this time around.
If you don’t have time to make one there are decorations out there that you can buy.

We also made this sign with the Cricut.
Balloons
It can’t be a celebration without balloons.
Mylar balloons are great. They come with many different sayings on them. Adding latex balloons with them for a bouquet sure adds some festive elegance to the party.
There are stores out there where you can find plenty of choices. I decided to go to the party store to get my balloons and it cost me quite a bit for just eight balloons.
I was wishing I had purchased the small helium tank to make my own balloon bouquets. Balloons and ribbon even come usually come with it.
Since I had already spent so much on the balloons already I opted to get a bag of latex balloons and make my own type of bouquets. They actually turned out nice. They are great if there is a shortage of helium also.
I keep them on hand for all celebrations.

Food or no Food for the graduation party?
I post a lot of easy-to-make recipes on my blog because I am not that crazy about spending time cooking on a daily basis.
When it comes to any type of a get-together it is another story. Cooking is what it is all about for me. When there is a party at my house they know they are going to eat.
I like making sure there are a couple of different entrees for everyone to have a choice. Make sure all will be satisfied.
If you don’t want to serve food that is okay too. Make sure you do have a dessert to serve though.
With the Corona Virus going around I decided to try something different with serving the food. Not liking the idea of everyone touching the spoons to serve themselves.
What I did is I bought container cups to serve individual servings. That way everyone touched their own container not everyone else’s. It worked out great.
Just make sure that there is enough for all to have as much as they want making sure they know they can take all they want.
Remember plastic silverware too. That way all gets thrown away. Easier clean-up for you which is a plus in my book.
As I mentioned earlier about the easy recipes I use. Baked Ziti gets requested a lot. The best part of it is you can make it ahead of time and just heat it up in the oven for around 15 minutes before serving.
Cake or Cupcakes

If you choose not to have food that is okay too. Just make sure to serve something to eat. Cake or cupcakes are easy desserts to have for a graduation party.
I usually do cakes but this time around I did cupcakes because of the virus. This way everyone served themselves. It made it so much easier.
There are so many great ways out there to have fun decorating cupcakes. I made the cupcakes myself and then decorated them with frosting and these great graduation cupcake picks.
Liking the ease of cupcakes I will definitely be serving them from now on at my parties.
Another easy item to add to the cupcakes is the individual serving containers of ice cream. Everyone seemed to like the idea of it. They were able to go back and get another container if they wanted more. The ease of it all made it a more enjoyable party for me too.
Clean-up was so easy!
What do you say is it party time?
