Online Shopping is the New way to shop
What? you say.
Online shopping has been around for awhile now.
Yes, it has been around but more and more people are using online ordering.
With the pandemic less people are going out shopping. We are all still in need of items so online shopping is the answer. I believe this is by far the safest way to shop.
My favorite past time is to go shopping. I don’t care where it is that I go. I just like to shop.
While we all need to take more precautions online shopping is the new shopping for me. I have found items that I know I couldn’t find at stores around me. I guarantee that online shopping will definitely be the way I shop even when we don’t have to be cautious. Going out on occasion maybe, but I like what I am finding online even better.
5 Ways to Shop Online
Here are 5 ways to do online shopping.
- Shop online and have it mailed to you.
- Have it delivered to your house by delivery truck.
- Order online and have an individual bring it to you.
- Curbside pick up with online ordering.
- There’s even online ordering with same day delivery.
Keep reading below for descriptions of what each one is.
1. Online Shopping Mailed to You
This first one we all have probably done some time or other. It’s been around for a while. All that you need to do is go to the website and order what you want and it will be mailed to you. A lot of places even have free shipping! In some cases it might take awhile to get to you but that’s okay if you aren’t needing it right away. Some things are worth the wait.
Can’t believe what I have found!
I have recently been shopping more and more online and have found some great deals. I find things that I couldn’t find in the stores near me. For example this dress I have seen this style on many women on the internet but couldn’t find it near me or if I found something similar but it wasn’t affordable. They’re even having a summer sale right now with a percentage off. I am so enjoying finding things online.

Amazon is a place you can go online and get items mailed to you. They will even have them to you in 2 days if you are a Prime Member. On some things you can even get them the next day or even the same day. At first I wasn’t a Prime Member and I would pay the shipping or look for items that were free shipping. I soon realized Prime was well worth the little cost to have such convenience. I use them a lot to get things I need real quick or items I need a little bit faster then usual. Try the free membership below just cancel if you don’t like the convenience of it. I tried it and I kept the membership.
I just realized that Amazon has were you can buy clothes and when you get them if they don’t fit you can send them back. It’s called Amazon Wardrobe. Try before you buy. I did this for my son. I bought a swimsuit in two sizes and sent the one back that didn’t fit him. They supplied the box and didn’t charge me postage.

2. Delivery Truck
There’s usually a little cost with this one. Some places have a delivery membership where you pay monthly or annually. Being able to order many different things this way is great.
You have stores like Home Depot or Lowes that will deliver items right to you for a small fee. I ordered all of my wood, cement, screws and even bathroom vanity from Home Depot. The ease of placing the order online and having them bring it to my home and unload it was worth the small cost to me. If you read my patio makeover post I ordered my cabinets from Ikea this way and they came the next day. Yes it did cost a bit for delivery but it was definitely worth it. Ikea is 50 miles away so no driving or lifting for me.
Even Groceries

Groceries can even be ordered this way. Talk about convenience. I personally haven’t tried it yet but I am seriously thinking about it. It is getting so hot here in Arizona that getting in the car feels like climbing into an oven. Walmart has a free trial. Bashas fees are different in places looks like they start at $3.99 which isn’t bad. Safeway has this too. I just signed in and they were giving me a free delivery on my first order. If you have a favorite place for groceries check to see if they have this option for you. Always check for fees. What I have stated above could be different were you live.

3. Individual
This is one that there are different apps out there. Instacart and Shipt.
Target uses Shipt for their grocery service. You can join Shipt for a fee of course or pay $9.99 per order. Most days it is same day delivery which is great.

Since I wrote this I tried it with Target it was so nice having groceries delivered to the door the next day. I could of had them delivered the same day if I wanted them too.
4. Curbside Pick Up with Online Shopping
I started using the curbside pick up a couple of years ago for my groceries. Sure I told everyone I came in contact with how wonderful it was to order my groceries online and then go pick them up. I didn’t want it to go away. That’s how much I loved using the online ordering.
There are a couple of stores that do full grocery curbside. They are Walmart with no fee and Fry’s (Kroger) starts out free then small fee. I started using Kroger in Indiana when I lived there. Walmart hadn’t started their online ordering yet. It worked out great. I love being able to grocery shop online. In my opinion grocery shopping is boring. I would rather do other things.
Starting out takes a little time but not too much. Both of them take an App to download. Walmart has the easiest App to use. They even save your favorite items or what you buy the most you can add it right to your cart.
Here recently I have opted to use Walmart over Kroger (Fry’s). Walmart is a lot faster. They have where you click (on way) in their App and they get it ready for you so you don’t have a long wait. Also the substitutions are a lot better. Walmart will try and substitute items were Fry’s will say they don’t have it.
Some of the items that have been substituted have been more quantity for the same price. Can’t beat that.
Groceries aren’t the only Curbside pick up there is. Target, Lowes, Party City, Kohls and Michaels are a few I have used. I haven’t had to wait more than 5 minutes at any of these places. Target is usually out there waiting for me. Talk about service. This is free.
5. Same Day Delivery
As I mentioned in the above paragraphs a lot of these options are same day delivery. Just make sure and check that it is available for that day. With online ordering getting popular right now stores are working on it being more readily available. So just check and make sure.
I will be using more online shopping and will add companies that I have enjoyed shopping with. So keep checking back.
Have fun shopping!
