It’s Christmas lights time of year! I am so excited to be able to put up Christmas lights this year and actually have people be able to see them.

From the year 2000 to 2005 we always had a competition with our neighbor across the street on who could put up the most Christmas lights and yard decorations. I looked forward to it each year and always started early November putting them up.

The other neighbors always looked forward to seeing what we came up with.

Then we had to move to Texas and living out in the country not many people were around to see them. We did make sure we had lights up for our own enjoyment but it just wasn’t the same.

We enjoyed making other people happy too.

Spread Some Christmas Joy

Well, this year we are still living outside of the city but we do live in a neighborhood where a lot of houses get decorated. This year I will probably start early November again. I would start earlier but I am needing to trim the trees first.

This year is kind of special being we are all under quarantine and not suppose to be going out as much.

What I thought and I know there is this idea floating out there too is that as much of us that can decorate the outside of our houses for Christmas. The earlier the better.

I thought that this would be a way to spread the cheer. Brighten up someone’s day.

It would also help everyone to be able to get out of their houses and go for a drive and see all of the Christmas lights. Each week plan a different area to go see lights. This is something to be able to do without having to be around people but have some holiday fun.

So what do you say? Want to add some Christmas lights to your yard and brighten someone’s holiday?

This brings back so many memories. When the kids were little my husband and I would cut out some decorations and paint them up. We would have additions to our yard every year.

One year we even made a 3d polar express train engine out of plywood. The kids and the neighborhood kids loved playing in it. Then we made a large Santa sleigh the next year to add on to it.

Oh, we had so much fun.

Just thinking about it makes me want to go and get plywood and start painting.

Plan Your Christmas Lights

So are you with me?

You don’t have to go all out and buy all kinds of lights and be seen in outer space. All I’m asking is that some Christmas lights and/or Christmas decorations be put up in your yard. These laser lights are so easy to install it only takes a matter of minutes.

Spread some Christmas joy this year being it will be a different Christmas for all of us.

I’ll make sure I show off our house too.

Have a very Merry Christmas.
