Special Access to The 7 Secrets of Home Staging
Home staging has been a part of my life for the past 15 years. Staging homes began back in the 1970’s but just recently became a real necessity to selling a house. Walking into a house and seeing its potential is exciting to me. Having a background in interior design and Home Staging many homes that sold for more then what the owners imagined. I know I can help you home stage your house and get it sold.
I enjoy helping others make more money by Home Staging their own homes. That’s why I am sharing these 7 secrets to Home Staging like a pro.
Secret #1:
Stop looking at your house as your home.
Think about that sentence above for a minute. What does that mean? You are probably thinking but it is my home. This is where DIY home staging is hard. You will have to step back and realize that yes it is your home but you are trying to sell it. Soon it will not be your home. This is probably the hardest step in Home Staging.
Step back and look at it as a house you are going to sell and make money from for your next adventure.

Secret #2:
Step back and look at your house like it was the first time you saw it.
We all kind of have blinders on when it comes to our own homes. It is so easy to ignore what is there everyday. It becomes part of the house to us.
What I mean when I say step back like it was the first time you saw it is to take a look at everything up close. Don’t just scan over everything.
Look at the exact same things you look at when you go and see the houses you are looking to buy. Think about what you think when you walk into a home and there is a stain on the carpet. That is what others will think about when they see yours.
Take off your blinders and really look at your house.

Secret #3:
Clean ,Clean and Clean again.
Really you can’t clean enough. It doesn’t matter what you have taken out of your house or put into your house if it is dirty everything else will be overlooked.
Cleaning is just not picking up your dirty socks. It’s cleaning those baseboards, wiping down the cupboards. Windows need those fingerprints wiped off.
Make sure every inch of your house has been cleaned.
Get those rubber gloves on and start scrubbing,

Secret#4 :
Pets need not be seen or smelled.
We all love our pets and most people will love them too. When you are selling your house they need to not be seen or smelled.
If possible no evidence of the pets should be in the house.
Pets usually means pet hair, possible unseen urine.
Someone might be allergic to them or afraid of them and not even walk through your house.
Also the worst thing is they might get out and get lost.
So the best thing to do is take them with you or let a neighbor watch them for a few hours while it’s being shown. If you have a pet that can’t be moved just make sure the tank or cage is cleaned before the showing.
Clean up after pets.

Secret # 5
Turn on all lights.
Turn on every light that you have. This includes your closets and table top lights.
Brightening the house makes it more cheerful and appealing. While you are at it open up those shades.

Secret # 6
No room vacant.
Some people can’t imagine what a room will look like or what it is used for unless they are shown.
Make sure each room is telling everyone what it can be used for.

Secret#7
Curb Appeal
Draw everyone into the home.
If your house doesn’t have great curb appeal you will lose a lot of potential buyers.
Buyers will not walk into the house if the outside is not appealing.
